PORTER COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL AND REMOVAL.
This Portage, Indiana customer called and told us they were hearing scratching and gnawing noises in the attic. They also told our wildlife removal specialist that "they had walked around the house and could not figure out how an animal could get in the house, let alone the attic".
Many times, squirrels will enter into homes by creating an entrance point where even a trained eye has problems finding it. This customer was surprised to find out that they had squirrels in the attic and they had entered through a roof vent. Most of the time, squirrels will chew an entrance point some place up on the roof line in a not so obvious location. In this case, the squirrels got into the attic through a roof vent. As you can see by this picture, the squirrels ripped open a hole in the roof vent and climbed down through the attic rafters and built a nest in the attic insulation. Our service technician barricaded a trap at the entrance point, trapped and removed the squirrels, and installed a pest guard vent cover to prevent any more animals from getting in the attic.
