Squirrel entrance points
Muncie Animal Control and Squirrel Removal. Customers call quite frequently, saying they think they have squirrels in the walls, squirrels in the floors, and squirrels in the attic. We always tell them there has to be an entrance point where the squirrels come and go for food and water. We always find these dryer vents without covers. This is just like a mini doggie door for squirrels. Once the squirrels get in, they will, a lot of the time, tear these vents open, especially if they are the flex plastic dryer vent hose. Sometime they turn out to be abandoned vents and the hose is left disconnected from the vent pipe. This particular Muncie customer had multiple entrance points. When the technician pointed these entrance points out, he only wanted us to remove the squirrels. He had squirrels and bats in his attic, too. He said he read online that putting a strobe light in the attic would drive them out. Well... Don't believe everything you read online. Strobe lights do nothing to prevent squirrels or bats from entering your attic. Only identifying the entrance points and repairing them will stop them from entering. If you're not handy, hire a professional like American Animal Control, LLC to properly repair and close up the squirrel and bat entrance points.
